A Note from the Founder

Qubictron is not an attempt to recreate SeaRates. For me, it is the next stage of the same technological evolution, built for a very different world.

When we created SeaRates, logistics lacked digital tools. We were the first to bring data from multiple shipping lines into a single Container Tracking environment, visualize container and vessel movements on one map, build global vessel schedules, compare transit times, develop operational statistics, and connect these tools with freight search and online booking.

What was once seen as a new generation of logistics technology gradually became an industry standard.

That experience taught us something important: the real value was never in each individual tool. It was in connecting fragmented information and making it work together.

Today, AI is changing the challenge again

It is no longer enough to show where a container is or how late a vessel may be. The real value is understanding what that delay means for the entire supply chain and what decisions should be made before the consequences become expensive.

If a vessel is delayed, we need to understand how that affects the next transport leg, truck or rail availability, warehouse windows, inventory, production, customer orders and the final cost of the shipment.

This is where logistics technology moves from simple visibility to predicting consequences and supporting decisions.

But that requires more than the data of a single company. International and multimodal logistics is made up of many independent participants: carriers, freight forwarders, shippers, consignees, warehouses, insurance companies, financial institutions and technology providers.

Each of them owns a different piece of the information. Connecting those pieces is what creates real intelligence.

What the Digital Freight Alliance taught us

This conclusion came not only from the SeaRates experience. While working with DP World, we also developed the Digital Freight Alliance. The original idea was much broader than a traditional professional network. We wanted to create an environment where independent freight forwarders could exchange rates, data, services and technology, and by doing so gain capabilities comparable to much larger players.

Over time, one fundamental contradiction of a centralized model became clear. If a network truly gives each participant more independence and more direct access to partners, data and customers, then the value gradually shifts away from the central platform and toward the participants themselves.

Not all of the ideas behind that model were ultimately implemented in the way we originally envisioned. That experience became very important in shaping Qubictron.

We reconsidered the role of the platform itself

We no longer believe that every participant in the industry should move into one centralized system and hand over its data, customers and commercial relationships.

Every freight forwarder's website can be a platform. Every ERP, CRM or TMS can be a platform. Every participant in the network should remain in control of its information and benefit directly from the value it creates.

Qubictron is not intended to become another intermediary. Our role is to give independent systems the ability to communicate with each other, exchange data directly, and use tracking, schedules, rates, booking, payments, analytics and AI as one connected digital flow.

  • The company keeps its customers.
  • The freight forwarder keeps its rates.
  • The partner keeps its data.
  • Each participant remains the beneficiary of its own work.

AI becomes the layer that turns this distributed flow of information into predictions, warnings and concrete actions.

The idea has not changed

I still believe in the same idea that stood behind SeaRates from the beginning: a small company can compete with the world's largest corporations when technology gives it speed, flexibility and efficiency.

Today, that idea is even more powerful. One small company is limited by its size. Thousands of independent companies connected by technology become a global network.

We built the first generation of digital logistics tools. Qubictron is being built for the next generation, where technology should strengthen not the owner of a central platform, but every participant in the network.

This is not another platform. It is infrastructure for a connected and independent industry.
