Non-Container Ships T/T

Transit Time Calculator for Non-Container Ships

Bulk carriers, tankers, gas carriers and general cargo ships rarely follow a fixed liner schedule, so their transit time has to be estimated for each voyage.

Enter the port of loading and the port of discharge, then choose a vessel type or set the speed manually. The calculator finds the sea route between the two ports and turns its distance and the vessel speed into an estimated transit time.

How the non-container ship calculator works

  1. Set the ports

Enter the port of loading and the port of discharge.

  2. Choose a vessel type

Bulk carrier, tanker, gas or LNG carrier, reefer and more, or Manual.

  3. Set the speed

Use the typical speed for the type or enter your own in knots.

Why vessel type and speed matter

A loaded bulk carrier, a fast reefer and a slow-steaming tanker can sail the same route at very different speeds. On a long voyage, every knot changes the result by days.

Setting the speed yourself lets charterers, traders and cargo owners test scenarios such as slow steaming, and plan laycans, storage and onward delivery with realistic dates.
